Funding & Insurance

At Custom Orthotics of London, we work with a variety of government funding programs, benefit providers and private insurance plans to help clients access orthotic care.

Coverage and eligibility vary depending on the individual, the orthosis being provided and the specific funding program or insurance plan. Our team can help you understand the documentation and forms that may be required.

Assistive Devices Program (ADP)

Custom Orthotics of London is a Registered Vendor with Ontario’s Assistive Devices Program (ADP) for orthoses.

For eligible Ontario residents, ADP may provide funding toward certain custom orthoses when program requirements are met.

Our team can help guide you through the ADP process and provide the required documentation for eligible orthoses.

Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB)

The Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program provides coverage for eligible First Nations and Inuit individuals for a range of health benefits, including certain medical supplies and equipment.

Coverage is subject to NIHB eligibility and program requirements. Our team can assist with the documentation required for eligible orthoses.

Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC)

Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) provides health benefits and services to eligible Veterans and other qualifying individuals.

Depending on eligibility and treatment needs, coverage may be available for certain orthoses and services through VAC.

Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB)

For individuals requiring orthotic care as a result of a workplace injury or occupational illness, coverage may be available through the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB).

Custom Orthotics of London works with WSIB to provide eligible orthoses and services when authorized as part of an individual’s care.

Private Insurance

Many extended health benefit plans provide coverage for custom orthoses, compression garments and other orthotic products and services.

Coverage varies considerably between insurance providers and individual plans, including requirements for prescriptions, eligible providers, maximum coverage amounts and replacement schedules.

We recommend contacting your insurance provider to confirm your coverage. Our team can provide estimates, receipts and supporting documentation required for your claim.
