Dawn MacArthur Turner is a Certified Orthotist who received her credentials in 1986. Dawn has extensive experience in both paediatric and adult orthotic needs, and started Custom Orthotics of London in 1987.
Dawn has acted as the President of the Ontario Association for Prosthetists and Orthotists (OAPO) and as a director for both the Canadian Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (CAPO) and Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (OPC). She has served as an examiner for the OPC National Certification exam and has been an Orthotic Resident Mentor for both OPC and the National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) for residency programs in the United States. She currently serves as the resident liaison for OPC, helping future practitioners with the educational and career needs they may have during their residency.
She continues to volunteer her time in the community and in the paediatric outreach clinic in Jamaica (see our Charitable Work page for more information). Dawn has been a guest lecturer for Western University’s physiotherapy program for over 15 years and has lectured at numerous educational in-services in the community.
Dawn has a strong passion for the orthotic rehabilitation field and diligently works to keep her practice up to date with the latest knowledge, technology and materials. She has a keen interest in using both patient-reported and standardized, measurable outcome measures to document the effectiveness of lower extremity orthotic treatment.
